In December 2011 the Minister for Education, John O’Dowd, launched a report by the Taskforce on Traveller Education which contained a number of high level recommendations aimed at addressing the barriers to education faced by Traveller children.
The draft Traveller Child in Education Action Framework is a response to these recommendations and will progress the way forward to ensure that Traveller children can benefit from the educational opportunities available.
