Schools Community Relations Programme
The School Community Relations Programme (SCRP) is administered by the Education and Library Boards. SCRP aims to:
- encourage schools to bring together young people from across the community divide, through programmes of activity designed to promote community relations in schools
- provide a valuable dimension to Education for Mutual Understanding (EMU) and Cultural Heritage (CH) in the curriculum.
Currently, funding totalling £1.3m per annum is devoted to the programme.
The Schools Community Relations Programme was reviewed in 2002 by a team from the University of Ulster. You can access a copy of the consultation document issued at the time - A Review of the Schools Community Relations Programme 2002 PDF 576 KB
The Department of Education, commissioned an additional piece of work on Pupils Perceptions of the SCRP PDF 461 KB. Subsequently the Department appointed an implementation panel to consider and address the implications of all agreed recommendations.
