Pupil attendance

Attendance data for all grant-aided primary, post-primary and special schools was collected for the first time at pupil level in the school census in October 2008.

The report below – ‘Attendance at grant-aided primary, post-primary and special schools 2007/08: Detailed statistics’ - presents overall attendance figures for the 2007/08 academic year, including information on the levels of absence, type of absence and reason for absence. The report also contains more detailed statistics by school sector, including absence by ELB and management type as well as pupil characteristics, such as gender and ethnicity.

The excel spreadsheet provides levels of attendance and absence, both authorised and unauthorised, for each school in Northern Ireland in 2007/08, where available.
