Public appointments
The Department of Education is seeking to appoint four members to the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland. At least one appointed member must be representative of industry and commerce. Applications are welcome from those with an interest in serving in the education sector including those who have not previously held a position in this area and those from the community, voluntary and other sectors.
The General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland is the independent profesional body for teachers in Northern Ireland. It is dedicated to enhancing the status of teaching and promoting the highest standards of professional conduct and practice.
The appointment is not remunerated although travel and subsistence expenses will be reimbursed for costs incurred on Council business.
The term of the appointment will expire on 14 October 2014.
