Strategic framework Description: The Strategic Framework has been designed to provide clear direction and guide planning over a three to five year period identifying five strategic themes.
Business plan Description: The departments current Business Plan identifies priorities and key tasks.

The education systemDescription: Provides a short synopsis of the History of Education in Northern Ireland up to the year 2000 ; describes the structure of the education system and supplies a background note on the Minister for Education. Annual budgets and accountsDescription: Information concerning the departments annual budget as approved by the Northern Ireland Assembly, approved budgets to the statutory funded bodies and Departmental audited accounts. These are available in hardcopy and other formats on request.

Legislation Description: Primary and Subordinate Legislation under which the Department discharges its functions. The Office of the Public Sector Information formerly HMSO, has responsibility for publication of all United Kingdom legislation and the OPSI publication scheme and website will also contain full details of legislation for which we have policy responsibility, together with costs where appropriate. This can be accessed on the Office of the Public Sector Information website or by hardcopy on request.

Education statisticsDescription: Research on education commissioned by the Department, and statistics produced by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA), this can be accessed on the website. Hardcopies of research briefings and research reports are available on request.

Senior management monthly team meetingsDescription: Copies of Agendas and summaries of meetings held after 1 December 2002 will be available within four weeks of being agreed. These summaries are normally agreed at the following meeting of the group and will not include exempt items e.g. personnel issues or matters concerning development of departmental policy not yet finalised. This by hardcopy on request.
