Count, Read: Succeed - A Strategy to Improve Outcomes in Literacy and Numeracy
Further to the Every School a Good School policy, the Department undertook a review of its Literacy and Numeracy strategy. The findings of this review and proposals for the way forward issued for public consultation in June 2008.
The consultation received considerable interest and responses were submitted by over 200 organisations and individuals. We are very grateful to all those who took the time to express their views during the process.
The finalised policy document, having been informed by the consultation responses, was launched by the Education Minister, Caitriona Ruane on 22 March 2011.
