2012 Education Website
Get Set – the 2012 education programme website - is up and running. The website is all about involving children and young people in the excitement and inspiration of the Games. It was launched on 18 September 2008 by the Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG). The Department is encouraging all schools to register with the Get Set website.
The Get Set network wants to bring schools, colleges and non-mainstream learning providers together in a dynamic and inspirational way. It will encourage them to integrate the Olympic and Paralympic Values into planning for sustained improvement. In this way it is hoped that the 2012 Games will leave a lasting educational, cultural and social legacy.
The Get Set interactive website provides children and young people between 3-19 years old with the chance to learn about the Olympic and Paralympic Values and the 2012 Games. Becoming part of the Get Set network is easy, fun and rewarding.
Everyone can access and register on the Get Set website. It enables you to -
- Involve the children and young people that you work with in the build-up to the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games in a way that is meaningful to their daily lives.
- Enjoy free resources, which will be refreshed and expanded on a regular basis over the next four years. Registered organisations will have access to additional content and will receive a monthly e-newsletter.
- Receive encouragement and practical support to assist children and young people in leading an application to become part of the Get Set network.
- Access a range of flexible tools which can be used in the classroom, assembly, extended schools and other settings.
