School governors

Term of office

School Boards of Governors are reconstituted every four years when members complete their term of office and may be replaced. The term of office for existing Boards of Governors will end on 30 June 2013 for schools that were reconstituted in the 2009/10 school year.

Vacant posts

New applications are welcome at any time from candidates seeking to be appointed by the Department (DE) as a school governor, to fill vacancies that arise during each reconstitution process or throughout the four year term of office due to mid term resignations.

We are currently seeking applicants to fill a number of vacant posts in voluntary grammar and grant maintained integrated schools.  Advertisement for school governor posts - PDF 106KB
