If you have responsibility for the nomination or appointment of school governors, you should be aware that from 1 January 2007 it will be a requirement to vet new school governors to be appointed from that date before the appointment can be confirmed.

Circular 2008/03 provides you with guidance in the vetting of school governors and supplements the guidance contained in previously issued child protection circulars:
