The Department of Education is seeking to appoint up to 50 members to a new Exceptional Circumstances Body with effect from 1 June 2010. A timetable for the 2010/11 arrangements is included.
The purpose of this letter is to provide updated procedures which schools should use with respect to applications for admissions to take place after 1 July 2010 when parents complain against the decision of a grant-aided school to refuse their child admission post-years 1 and 8.
