This letter is to remind principals of grant-aided schools that applications for financial assistance to meet the Class Sizes requirement must be with Education and Library Boards (in the case of controlled schools) and the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools (in the case of maintained schools) not later than 14 March 2008.

This circular provides guidance about and explain the new procedures for the approval of pupils transferring from primary to secondary education either a year early (underage pupils) or a year later (overage pupils) than they would normally be required to transfer.
