January 2010 Consultation on possible changes to the Common Funding Formula including the funding of Preparatory Departments

The Department of Education (DE) is undertaking a consultation exercise with schools on possible changes to the Common Funding Formula. The consultation period will run from 07 January 2010 until 25 February 2010.

A consultation is also being undertaken on the draft Equality Impact Assessment (EQIA) on the proposal to withdraw funding from Preparatory Departments of Grammar schools. This consultation period is to run from 7 January 2010 to 4 March 2010.

The proposed changes have been put forward following deliberations with the Local Management of Schools (LMS) Steering Group, which includes representatives from the Education and Library Boards, the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools (CCMS), the Governing Bodies Association (GBA), NI Council for Integrated Education (NICIE) and Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta (CnaG).
