Equality Team

The role of the Equality Team is:

To provide guidance and advice to branches within the Department on equality issues around the 9 categories specified in Section 75 of the Northern Ireland Act 1998; specifically in relation to Screening and Equality Impact Assessments.

To provide guidance and advice to Teams within the Department  on Human Rights issues

To co-ordinate responses from the Department  on equality and Human Rights issues which involve input from more than one Team or the Department as a whole.

To provide a first point of contact in the Department  for groups involved in Section 75 equality and Human Rights issues.
