Consultation on the draft Early Years (0-6) Strategy
On 25 June 2010 the Minister for Education, Caitríona Ruane, launched the consultation process of the draft Early Years (0-6) Strategy.
The purpose of the new Strategy is to set out a vision and plan for ensuring better outcomes for children by improving the provision and quality of services to the youngest children, their parents and families for the next 5 years.
The draft Early Years (0-6) Strategy document sets out a proposed vision, aims and Objectives that will link the range of early years’ services for children (0-4) from Education and Health with the new Foundation Stage in the first years of Primary School. It will reflect the drive for cohesion in the policies and services affecting early years so that children and parents get the best outcomes possible.
The draft Early Years (0-6) Strategy document, and supporting Evidence Based Paper, have been published together with a consultation response booklet to help respondents provide a structured response and we would welcome your views on the proposals set out in the document.
The consultation runs from 25 June 2010 to 30 November 2010. Copies of the letter of notification, the consultation document: “Early Years (0-6) Strategy”, the Evidence Based Paper and the consultation response booklet can be viewed using the links below:
