Autumn 2007 CFS Consultation
The Department of Education (DE) undertook a consultation exercise with schools on a possible change to the Common Funding Scheme (CFS).
The consultation period ran from 15 November 2007 until 16 January 2008. The possible change had been put forward following deliberations with the Local Management of Schools (LMS) Steering Group, which includes representatives from the Education and Library Boards, the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools (CCMS), the Governing Bodies Association (GBA), NI Council for Integrated Education (NICIE) and Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta (CnaG).
The proposed change does not alter the fundamental principles of the Common Funding Formula, which seeks to fund all grant-aided schools on an equitable, consistent and transparent basis.
Any change to the operation of the Common Funding Formula is only adopted after careful consideration of the responses to consultation and subject to Ministerial approval.
