Autumn 2008 CFS Consultation

The Department of Education (DE) undertook a consultation exercise with schools on possible changes to the Common Funding Scheme (CFS). The consultation period ran from 10 October 2008 until 12 December 2008.

The proposed changes had been put forward following deliberations with the Local Management of Schools (LMS) Steering Group, which includes representatives from the Education and Library Boards, the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools (CCMS), the Governing Bodies Association (GBA), NI Council for Integrated Education (NICIE) and Comhairle na Gaelscolaíochta (CnaG).

The changes do not alter the fundamental principles of the Common Funding Formula; funding all grant-aided schools on an equitable, consistent and transparent basis.
