These dates represent when schools are closed to pupils. However, teachers must attend school on five of these dates for Training and Development purposes.
Schools have discretion to close for up to five optional days. Optional days are intended to cover closings throughout the year in special circumstances, for example death of a person connected with the school, need to move premises, start of building work, church holy days.
Therefore, optional days are likely to differ from school to school.
