Administration of pay

Information within this section contains contact details for Teachers Pay and Administration Branch, including an overview of the services Teachers Pay provides and possible questions teachers may have about payroll and other related issues. There is also a section, which enables teachers to download useful forms for completion (for example the maternity application form).

Pay and conditions

This area contains details of teachers pay and conditions of service in Northern Ireland. It includes copies of teachers pay and conditions determinations for example pay scales, copies of agreements on pay and conditions of service and other publications relating to the annual pay cycle.

Pension scheme

Information within this section contains details of Teachers Pensions Branch. An overview of services provided by the branch is included, together with possible questions which current and retired teachers may have about pensions and related matters. In addition, there is information about legislation, circulars, publications and Actuarial reports relating to the Northern Ireland Teachers Superannuation Scheme.

Professional development

Information within this section will be useful to student teachers, beginning teachers, teacher-tutors and those with a role in the delivery of teacher education. It includes information on teacher competences, the three stages of teacher education and the roles and responsibilities of the teacher education partnership in each of the three stages.

Teacher education review

Information within this section contains details of the policy review of teacher education in Northern Ireland. It contains links to the five commissioned studies arising out of the Teacher Education in a Climate of Change conference and proposals for the kind of teacher education we will need in the longer term.
