Consultation on draft Teachers' (Compensation for Redundancy and Premature Retirement) Regulations (NI) 2009 and complementing amendments to the Teachers' Superannuation Regulations (NI) 1998.

The Department has launched the Consultation on the draft Teachers' (Compensation for Redundancy and Premature Retirement) Regulations (NI) 2009 and complementing amendments to the Teachers' Superannuation Regulations (NI) 1998.

The draft regulations will ensure that in the future, employers will pay for the extra cost of teachers' premature retirement as and when it takes place.

The consultation commenced on 19 March and will end on 15 May 2009.
