Leave of absence

Teachers' leave of absence for a period exceeding three working days -1993/31 PDF 15 KB
This circular updates 1991/46 and advises that the approval for teachers who apply to be absent from institutions of further education for a period of more than three working days will be a matter for the employing authority, in the case of principals and the relevant bodies, in the case of all other teachers, as opposed to the Department.

Acting allowances, teachers' absences not exceeding three working days and leave of absence for adoptive mothers - 1991/32 PDF 12 KB
This circular stipulates conditions applicable for a teacher receiving an acting allowance, confirms that the term 'near relative' in the Appendix note of 1990/32 and 1990/60 also means 'son or daughter-in-law'' and confirms the leave of absence and pay for adoptive mothers.
